Dr. Ford also loves getting out into the community to educate referring professionals, educators, home school programs / co-ops, and sports groups about the importance of developmental and rehabilitation vision and how it can impact patients of all ages in many different ways. She enjoys educating her younger, up-and-coming colleagues about the importance of continuing the growth of developmental vision and rehabilitation vision therapy so many more have access to the wonderful care it can provide.
Like many of the children Dr. Ford sees, she struggled in school starting at a young age and all the way through college. Learning and reading was always much more challenging for her then her other classmates. It wasn’t until she started her education in optometry school that she determined she had a vision problem that was affecting her schooling. Through the help of her professors and classmates, she was able to be successfully be treated through therapeutic lenses and was amazed at how much easier and enjoyable schoolwork and reading was for her. Because of these drastic changes, Dr. Ford decided to further her optometric education and seek special training in vision therapy so she can help the many students like her, but at a much earlier age!
Dr. Ford lives in the South Tulsa area and is married to Dr. Phillip Ford, an Optometrist located in Catoosa, OK. They have 2 daughters, 2 dogs, and a bearded dragon. Dr. Ford and her family love spending time with their extended family and traveling.
