Why Vison Therapy?

There are so many reasons to have your binocular vision evaluated, and the benefits start even before therapy does!

Our visual system is made up of 17 unique visual skills, only one of which is clarity of sight. This means that even if a patient is seeing 20/20 there are 16 other factors that could be negatively impacting their vision. Our doctors check all components of your visual system aiming to identify any visual problems that are not improved through the use of corrective lenses alone.

Following a patient’s initial evaluation a Developmental Vision Evaluation Report is generated that details the doctor’s findings, recommended academic or professional visual accommodations, and the prescribed vision therapy program (when applicable). Each patient who is prescribed vision therapy gets a 1-hour complementary conference to go over these results where they can speak with one of our education specialists about their next steps and are provided with a copy of their report.

For our pediatric patients, this report is extremely valuable when setting up 504/IEPs for the school year, and adults can use this as documentation to set up reasonable accommodations regarding their vision in the workplace. All of this is available to patients who are found to have a binocular vision diagnosis regardless of whether they choose to pursue a therapy program with us.

If a patient decides to begin a therapy program with us, they get a comprehensive in-office and at-home vision therapy program tailored to their unique diagnosis and the goals they have for their vision. Our staff is dedicated to patient success and have a passion for improving patient quality of life. All patients are encouraged to utilize our expertise and support throughout their time with us and like our therapy outcomes, our patient care is lifelong! We aim to be a vision resource for our patients at every stage of life, not just when they are in our therapy room!
