Indya’s vision therapy journey began with her 7-year-old daughter. After being told mixed information by doctors regarding her daughter’s sudden eye turn, and eventually being told that surgery was the only option, Indya stumbled upon South Tulsa Vision Development Center. It was during Dr. Ford’s Vision Therapy Program that Indya saw her daughter welcomed into a place that not only normalizes vision problems but also provides hope to families. Her daughter has since graduated the program, has achieved above average depth perception and does not need surgery. Because Indya believed so strongly in sharing her story and helping others in their vision problem journeys, she approached Dr. Ford about joining the STVDC team.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Indya and her family love to adventure. Whether it is outside, at the skate park, at the BMX track, on a road trip, a plane trip, or outside of the country, the Oakes family are always off exploring what the world has to offer. Her background is in Business and Team Development, Marketing, Vocational Ministry, and Graphic Design. Indya loves to work with people and seizes any opportunity to help someone (young or old) discover their strengths and best apply them. She uses this approach when working with patients, valuing their perspective, goals, and best form of communication.
